Supporting the advancement of renewable energy technologies.

Now in its formative stages, the University of Phoenix Solar Research Institute will be dedicated to advancing scientific and technological progress in solar and renewable energy research to move local, national and international efforts forward in utilizing renewable energy technologies on a global and mass scale. It is envisioned that the Institute will pursue its mission through the integration of research, education, training, and community outreach through the following core activities:

  • Housing and facilitating demonstration projects and research.
  • Developing educational and workforce development opportunities and curricula.
  • Pursuing a vigorous agenda for community outreach and public service activities.
  • Providing a forum for local, national, and international activities to advance solar and other renewable energy development.

  • Representatives from the University of Phoenix Solar Research Institute Attended the 15th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP15) in Copenhagen, Denmark.

    December 14, 2009

    Ayla Dickey, the Chair of the Board of Directors, facilitated arrangements for the Institute’s involvement with COP15. Seth Mones, the Institute’s President, traveled to the international conference in December. The conference provided the opportunity to profile the Institute and interact with key decision makers and leaders.
